Voice DNA — BeWith

How the brand sounds. Every agent producing human-facing or product-facing output reads this before writing a single word. Source: Brand Discovery Worksheet (agents&me).

The Brand as a Person

Meet BeWith. She's the person every city wishes worked for them, and every other vendor wishes they were.

Innovative.

She doesn't ask "how have we always done this?" She asks "why are we still doing this?" She was using AI before it was cool, building with it before it had a name. She sees three steps ahead, not because she's clairvoyant, but because she's actually paying attention. When everyone else is digitizing the past, she's designing the future.

Good-looking.

Not flashy. Not loud. Considered. The way an Apple product is good-looking. The way a well-tailored blazer is good-looking. Every detail intentional, nothing wasted, nothing screaming for attention, because she doesn't need to scream. She walks into the room and the room adjusts. Her design taste is the kind that makes municipal software feel embarrassing by comparison.

Smart.

Not just book-smart, useful-smart. She knows the data, but more importantly she knows what the data means. She can talk to a mayor about political legacy, to a community manager about Tuesday's event, and to a CTO about API architecture, and switch between them mid-sentence. She doesn't show off her intelligence. She just quietly makes everyone around her smarter.

What We Are NOT

  • Not another legacy gov-tech vendor. This is our category enemy.
  • Not arrogant or condescending. This defines our relationship with the customer.
  • Not AI hype. AI that works. This is our product philosophy.

Signature Line

Run Every Event. Reach Every Resident.

Inspirations

  • Spotify, Monday — product and brand energy.
  • Apple, Google — design taste and intelligence.

Writing Rules (derived from the above)

  • Confident, not loud. State things plainly. Don't oversell.
  • Every word earns its place. Cut the filler. Considered, not flashy.
  • Speak to the reader's real problem, not to features. We sell relief, reach, and learning, not software.
  • Switch register to match the reader: mayor (legacy, reputation), community manager (the next event), CTO (architecture).
  • Never sound like a 1990s bureaucracy. Never sound like AI hype.
  • No em-dashes in customer-facing or human-to-human text. Em-dashes are an AI tell. Periods, commas, colons, parentheses, or hyphens for compound words only. See feedback_em_dash_scope for scope (internal docs are exempt).
